ALEX SCHWARTZ, SATHVIK KUMAR AND KEVIN QUACH
On June 27 and June 28, ASM Hanhart presented Alex, Sathvik and Kevin to the Eagle Scout Character Board of Review, and we are proud to announce that they are ALL full fledged Eagle Scouts! Here’s a little background on how they got here.

Alex Schwartz bridged to Troop 718 as a Pack 718 Arrow of Light Scout in March 2013. Alex served as a Patrol Leader and Scribe, and earned the Den Chief National Service Award by serving Pack 718’s Webelos den.   Alex earned 30 Merit Badges and has also earned several National Awards, including the World Conservation and NOA Camping Segment.  Alex’s Eagle Scout project benefited the Lomita Kiwanis Foundation, where he improved the main reception room by replacing the old decorative wood paneling.  Recently Alex taught a Traffic Safety badge workshop to our Troop.  He will be a senior at South High School in the Fall and he competes on the SHS Academic Decathlon Team.

Sathvik Kumar joined the troop in October, 2014 and has served as a Patrol Leader, ASPL , Outdoor Ethics Guide and Troop Scribe. He has earned 21 merit badges, camped for 24 nights, hiked over 50 miles and earned Forest Conservation and Outdoor Ethics Awareness Award. His Eagle Scout project was rebuilding a shed for the Riviera Sportsman’s Lodge. Sathvik recently graduated from South High School and will be attending college in the fall.

Kevin Quach bridged to Troop 718 with Arrow of Light in 2012 and has served as Bugler/Scribe, ASPL, Patrol Leader and Quartermaster. He earned 23 merit badges. His Eagle Scout project was building four band ramps that attached to risers to make things easier for the ensemble to prepare for concerts or pack up. He recently graduated from West High School where he played in the Concert and Marching Bands and will be attending college in the fall.

I am honored to have been a part of their journey.  Please join me in congratulating Alex, Sathvik and Kevin on their outstanding achievement.

Yours in Scouting,
Aaron Johnson, Scoutmaster
