One of the most enjoyable ways to help our Scouts is to become a Merit Badge Counselor.  Merit Badge Counselors are adults who meet with Scouts to assess whether they have successfully earned a Badge, based on the requirements identified by Boy Scouts of America.  Knowledge in a Merit Badge subject is often helpful but it is not needed for most badges.  Troop 718 especially encourages Troop parents to serve as Counselors for the Eagle required Merit Badges which are generally not covered in Summer Camp, such as Citizenship in the Community,in the Nation, and in the World, or Cooking Merit Badge.

To become a MB Counselor, you must submit an Adult Application, the Merit Badge Counselor application, and proof of completion of YPT to the Troop Merit Badge Coordinator (see attached ROSTER).  Please click on the link above to download documents needed.
