Webelo to Scout

There are no pre-requisites to join Troop 718, however, Scouts who bridge as Webelos do have an advantage: they are already accustomed to many of the principles and methods of Scouting.

That said, there are several differences between Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.  In Boy Scouts, parental attendance is optional for overnight outings, activities are boy-led as opposed to adult-led, and boys are encouraged to be more independent and less parent-reliant than in the Webelo Program.  Of course, one important thing isn’t different: parental support, encouragement, and guidance is always needed to remind Scouts to Be Prepared and just Do Your Best.

Troop 718 encourages Den leaders and parents to research and compare Boy Scout Troops early in their Webelos’ 2nd year.   Our Scoutmasters are always available to anyone who is interested in learning more about Troop 718 and how it operates.
