Boy Scout Troops use the Boy-Lead model, where youth leaders learn to make and implement decisions for the Troop. Scouts are elected or appointed to Leadership positions for six months to one year. Some leader jobs have rank eligibility requirements, or scouts must be able to demonstrate certain skills. Parent cooperation is essential for some Scout Jobs, so Scouts can fulfill their responsibilities.
