As boys grow with the Troop and become more confident and proficient in their outdoor skills, higher level activities and more challenging experiences are often needed to keep them interested, engaged, and always learning. Troop 718 offers a “Venture Patrol” to address this need. Activities such as white water rafting, hard terrain backpacking, rappelling, long distance cycling, and advanced rock climbing, etc. are examples of Venture Patrol outings.
Designed for more experienced scouts, participants generally must be at least 13 years old, ranked First Class or higher, and meet the approval of the attending Scoutmaster for each specific outing.
