Troop 718’s Mission

Troop 718’s Mission is to prepare boys to make ethical life choices, become confident future leaders, and develop in themselves personal responsibility, self-reliance, and good citizenship, in accordance with the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Troop 718 uses the “Boy Led” model to meet its mission. Here the Scouts are “in-charge”: they are the active decision makers and leaders for the Troop.  Along the way, they are recognized for their progressive participation in Troop activities and for demonstrating an array of life skills and decision-making achievements.

Although the Troop follows the “Boy Led” model, adult leadership is key to ensure the BSA program is followed and the Scouts receive full benefit.  Troop 718’s culture of high parental involvement and community enables our Mission to be realized for our Scouts.   Our Troop’s great success is due to the many helping hands of our “Scouter” parents.
